CAMARC
Conservación de Ambientes Marinos y Costeros (CAMARC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and conservation of marine and coastal ecosystems in Mexico. Founded by a team of marine biologists, CAMARC combines technological innovation, scientific research, and community collaboration to create sustainable solutions that ensure the well-being of marine biodiversity and the coastal communities that depend on it.
Currently, we are working on a project titled "Drone-based Monitoring to Enhance Whale Shark Conservation in Bahía de La Paz Refuge Area, Baja California Sur, Mexico." We’re using drone technology to document and assess the behavior of whale sharks both in the presence and absence of swimmers and boats within their refuge area. This project aims to improve conservation strategies for this endangered species by monitoring human impact and ensuring a sustainable balance between ecotourism and the protection of whale sharks.
FUNDACION ASTRA
Fundación Astra was born from the meeting of Dr. Nancy Harris, president of Fundación Terma, and a group of highly motivated and idealistic local professionals who share a common goal: to support impoverished families excluded from the healthcare system in Baja California Sur.
Fundación Astra is a coalition of Mexican and international professionals committed to a holistic and sustainable effort to address the emerging health challenges of vulnerable communities in Baja California Sur.
The combination of our diverse perspectives and experiences forms the foundation of our Foundation's values: quality care, community service, respect, and diversity in culture and skills guide us to provide comprehensive and tailored medical care for all with integrity and empathy.
